The greatest understanding I have for art came from my dad, not when I was around but when I am far away and watch his work, the interest, passion from further.
growing up, we had a lot of colors, papers and books, on a variety of topics, one of that was anatomy. I was wondering then, why would I have these resources at my house, when my dad is artist and my mother was a house maker, a very educated one at the time.
Now at the age of 75+ my dad still works and shares his work, but I dug deeper into his art thruout his career as an artist , painter and prof. of fine arts, I realize art just happened to him. His cloths always in some paint stains, some experiments setup in our small gallery in small city of INDIA , was a common childhood scene. This man has the great desire to express. A pen and a paper, a pencil and a paper. frozen grass but a canvas and paints , all these lackings and incomplete resource settings are flourishing situations for my dad’s expressions.
I also often think that there are periods when he is just thinking not expressing, those can be long periods and latest paint tools, lots of canvases and pretty good weather and studio cannot bring any of his expressions out.
Thats why I say to myself, art just happens to this man! I am very honored to be part of this coincidence.
for friends reading this post: here is the paitings collection that help me understand how vast the imagination can go presenting one style to another.
